Got a Tip?

HBO Is Considering A ‘Deadwood’ Movie

DeadwoodLast year, we ran the feature 6 TV Shows We’d Like To See Get The Big-Screen Treatment and "Deadwood" cracked the list. Little did we know that HBO would break our hearts and go forward with an "Entourage" movie instead, but it seems the network hasn’t forgotten about the beloved, short-lived show.

Following a couple of too-good-to-be-true tweets from Garrett Dillahunt aka Francis Wolcott, EW reports that "preliminary talks" are happening about turning the David Milch show into a full blown movie. Damn. Peppered with salty language, delivered by an excellent cast including Timothy Olyphant, Ian McShane, Molly Parker, John Hawkes, and more, the show won Emmys and earned a lot of love, but perhaps not quite the ratings to sustain it.

We’d wager there are a lot of moving parts to get into place for this to happen, but it looks like "Deadwood" on the big screen may be more than just a passing dream.
