Got a Tip?

The ‘Hangover 2’ Sequel News Is Slightly Premature

In April, Warner Brothers seemingly showed massive confidence in Todd Phillips’ upcoming Vegas bachelor-party-gone-wrong comedy, “The Hangover,” by setting in motion a sequel for the film two months before it hit theaters, according to Variety.

However, according to a piece yesterday in the L.A. Times, suggesting the film could be the surprise hit of the summer, the studio has not yet green-lit the sequel nor made any deals with the principle cast members (Zach Galifianakis, Ed Helms, Bradley Cooper).

WB Prez Jeff Robinov says they are hopeful that “The Hangover” will perform well enough to put part two in first gear, and hopefully, a follow-up film can go into production early next year, but as of right now it seems like a wait and see game (and there’s no indication that a script for any sequel has been written yet).

“We want to try to get a bit of a jump start on it,” Robinov says of the sequel possibility. But early screenings for the film have gone over like gangbusters and the studio has very high hopes for “The Hangover” which hits theaters June 5.

  1. i really hope they make a 2nd one.. i went to watch the 1st a couple days ago and it was absulutly hilarious.. i laughed from beginning to end, a must see movie!!

  2. I really hope they dont make a second one. What the heck would it be about? My prediction is it will flop. The studio knows the sequel will gross mass revenue due to the originals mass popularity. Money, money, money.

  3. We loved this movie, especially Bradley Cooper. We hope there will be a sequell. Someone should think of a comedy with Bradley Cooper and Dane Cook they would be great in a movie, They could play brothers, they sound and look so much alike!!!
