It looks like Sarah Jessica Parker isn’t the only actress in town who can rock some Manolo Blahniks (are those still cool? We have no idea).
Halle Barry has joined the cast of “Shoe Addicts Anonymous,” based on the best selling chick flick book by Beth Harbison; this project is already making our skin crawl. The film will focus “on the lives of four Chicago women from different ethnic backgrounds, bonded by two things. They are shoe addicts who wear the same size. They form a support group, swap 7.5s and become—wait for it—sole sisters. Eventually their bond goes beyond footwear. Berry will play an agoraphobe who feeds her addiction with online footwear purchases.” So yeah, just buy some shit and your phobias will be cured!
So how bland and generic will this be? Paul Weiland (“Made Of Honor”) is directing and the script is by Kristen Buckley and Brian Regan (“How To Lose a Guy In 10 Days”). No domestic distributor is on board yet, but considering the film basically sounds like the ethnically diverse version of “Sex & The City,” it shouldn’t be too long until it lands one.
Casting is still underway for the other actresses and production is set to be completed before Berry hits Broadway in “The Mountaintop.” [Deadline]
