Got a Tip?

Gwyneth Paltrow Is Only Interested In More Marvel Appearances If She Can Film Them In “A Day Or Two”

At the end of “Avengers: Endgame,” it was shown that Tony Stark, aka Iron Man, died saving the universe with the snap of his fingers. But the hero did leave behind his wife, Pepper Potts, and their young daughter. And as with everything in the MCU, it is assumed that Gwyneth Paltrow, who has been playing Potts for more than a decade, would be able to return at some point, if needed. Well, according to the actress, she’s interested, but not if it is going to require more than a day or two of work.

Speaking to People, Paltrow was asked about whether or not she’d be willing to come back to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Pepper Potts. While most people would kill to have a role in the MCU, especially one as prominent as Potts, the actress seems to be done with her superhero film days and is only interested in returning if she doesn’t have much of a role at all.

“I think if it was a small part that I could do in like a day or two, I would of course be open to that,” Paltrow said.

There goes the Pepper Potts solo film that fans have been clamoring for. (Obviously, kidding.) But honestly, it does show what has become readily apparent over the past several years—Paltrow is done with the MCU, mentally at least. Sure, she showed up in ‘Endgame,’ but her social media posts spoiled a major surprise in the film and she has said before that she doesn’t really care about doing more of these Marvel films. I mean, let’s be real, those vagina-scented candles don’t make themselves, right?

That said, it’s good that she’s willing to show up at some point. There is plenty of opportunity coming up in the near future, also. She could easily be a small part in “Armor Wars,” which directly follows the consequences of Stark’s death. Then there’s “Ironheart,” which follows the heir-apparent to the “superhero in a suit of armor” role in the MCU, Riri Williams. So, even though she’s not jazzed about starring in the MCU projects anymore, here’s hoping that maybe she has one or two more appearances left in her.
