Got a Tip?

Guy Ritchie Talking ‘Rock N Rolla’ Sequel Again, But Can It Perform Well Enough To Qualify For One?

According to the U.K. publication, The Sun, Guy Ritchie’s latest crime caper, “RocknRolla” is Ritchie’s “most polished to date.” We have our doubts, as his last film, “Revolver” was a convoluted mess of Freudian 101-ism wrapped in a shoot-em-up drama . But Ritchie thinks otherwise, and is planning on his film banking so well in the States, he’s already penned a sequel. “I’ve written a second and sketched out a third. If ‘RocknRolla’ goes well we’ll be back for another,” he told the British paper.

This isn’t exactly new, ‘Rolla,’ star Thandie Newton told MTV News in March that a triology could be in store if all goes according to plan.

But, since “RocknRolla” is struggling to find a studio that actually wants to distribute it and with Warner studio head, Alan Horn calling the film too English to be commercially successful stateside, its sequel chances seem somewhat unlikely. Especially in a day in age where distributors already have more indie flicks than they can handle. Ritchie can dream on, but lets get real, if an English director wants sequels in Hollywood, their movie better have something to do with emotionally tormented billionaires and loads of special effects.
