And he’s going to flex that new muscle for his feature film directorial debut, “Good Grief.”
According to Deadline, Dan Levy is set to write and direct a new Netflix film, “Good Grief,” and he’s found his leading actors for the job. The film is set to star Ruth Negga, Himesh Patel, Luke Evans, Celia Imrie, Arnaud Valois, David Bradley, and Jamael Westman. According to the official synopsis, “Good Grief” tells the story of Marc, a man who deals with the loss of his mom by entering into a comfortable marriage. However, when his husband also dies, Marc finds himself trying to deal with his grief while also going on a trip to Paris with his two friends.
“‘Good Grief’ is a cautionary tale about friendship and loss and all the mess that comes with it when the truth is something you’ve evaded for most of your life,” said Levy. “It’s funny, it’s bittersweet, it’s a project that has helped me work through my own grief. And I hope it does the same for other people as well.”

As mentioned, Levy is directing the film, but he is also the writer of “Good Grief.” Netflix is set to release the film, but it’s unclear when production might begin. That said, considering casting is already coming together, you can assume the film will begin production soon and could be arriving in 2023.
