Got a Tip?

‘Glorious’ Trailer: J.K. Simmons Is A Lovecraftian God Speaking Through A Glory Hole In New Horror-Comedy

Shudder is one of the most interesting streaming services available today. No, it doesn’t have the sheer amount of content you might find on Netflix. No, it doesn’t have the prestige of an Apple TV+ or Amazon. And no, it doesn’t have Marvel or “Star Wars” programming like Disney+. But it does have a ton of fun, well-made horror/thriller films and TV series that are worth your time. Better yet, it’s also way cheaper than most of the competition. And lastly, where else are you going to find a film where J.K. Simmons voices a Lovecraftian god who speaks to a man through a glory hole? Shudder, baby!

As seen in the trailer for the new horror-comedy, “Glorious,” J.K. Simmons provides the voice of a Lovecraft-inspired monster god who resides in a rest area bathroom stall in the middle of nowhere. Yes, you read that right. Things get even weirder when Wes (Ryan Kwanten) arrives in said bathroom and starts a conversation (through a glory hole) with the unseen god-like creature. Discussions of the end of the world and such happen, leading to a demand that isn’t warmly received by Wes.

“Glorious” stars Kwanten alongside the voice of Simmons. Also joining the cast are Sylvia Grace Krim, Tordy Clark, and André Lamar. The film is directed by Rebekah McKendry, who previously worked on the film, “All the Creatures Were Stirring.”

“Glorious” is set to arrive on Shudder on August 18. You can watch the new trailer below.
