We’ve got yet another soundtrack contest for you courtesy of the fine folks at Rhino Records.
We’ve already reported and written about the soundtrack to Drew Barrymore’s directorial debut, “Whip It,” which we saw at the Toronto International Film Festival (read our full review, ultimately after a slow start we ended up liking it) starring Ellen Page, Kristen Wiig, Marcia Gay Harden, Drew Barrymore, Juliette Lewis, Andrew Wilson, Jimmy Fallon and Daniel Stern and many more.
So we have a little giveaway package that includes the soundtrack to the film — which is indie-riffic and includes tracks by The Raveonettes, Jens Lekman, Peaches, an Adam Green/Har Mar Superstar collaboration and many more — and the poster of the film as well. We have five copies left! giveaways in total and as per usual we have a semi-tricky little trivia question for you. Update: Contest is very closed, sorry.
The film is set in Austin, Texas and it features at least one band — not on the soundtrack — that is a small, but well-known band from that great little city (and pals of ours, they’re great). To win you have to email us the correct answer (and you only get one shot). It’s somewhere on our blog and you’ll have to do some scrounging for it. Depending on how the film and soundtrack does, there might even be a second soundtrack disc ala “Juno,” as “Whip It” has 75 music cues in total apparently and features bands like Radiohead in the movie, but not on the soundtrack. Entrants have to be within North America, fyi.
The “Whip It” soundtrack is in stores today and the film hits theaters this weekend on October 2.
Can I have your e-mail address? My outlook is acting weird and wont open.
