Meeting that special someone can be a real adventure. That’s the premise of “Ghosted,” a new high-concept romantic action adventure film starring Chris Evans and Ana de Armas. Directed by Dexter Fletcher (“Rocketman,” “The Offer,” and “Eddie And The Eagle”), the new film is streaming on April 21 on Apple TV+. What’s it about? Well, it essentially grafts the spy genre onto the rom-com genre. Evans plays a regular, oblivious civilian who falls for an amazing girl on a first date. However, it turns out she’s a secret agent, and when they try and decide if they should or shouldn’t get any more serious, they are whisked off on an international espionage adventure that he gets sucked into.

If it sounds a little generic, well, the writers behind it are no slouches, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, the “Deadpool” writers, and Chris McKenna, and Erik Sommers, the writers behind Marvel’s “Spider-Man” films.
There’s a great supporting cast too including Adrien Brody, Mike Moh, Amy Sedaris, Tim Blake Nelson, Tate Donovan, and Burn Gorman.
Here’s the official synopsis:
Salt-of-the-earth Cole (Evans) falls head over heels for enigmatic Sadie (de Armas)—but then makes the shocking discovery that she’s a secret agent. Before they can decide on a second date, Cole and Sadie are swept away on an international adventure to save the world.
Fletcher is obviously known for a lot of crowd-pleasing films, so this action/spy/ rom-com hybrid might be right up his alley. “Ghosted” is due to premiere April 21 on Apple TV+. Check out the first trailer below.
