The Cannes Film Festival has come and gone, “The Rover” has premiered and what now? Well, it’s opening later this month and as one of our 10 Movies To See In June, it’s one we encourage you to track down. So until it opens, here are a few appropriately sweat and grimy new pics from the post-apocalyptic movie.
As you know Robert Pattinson and Guy Pearce star in the latest from “Animal Kingdom” director David Michôd, and it’s some solid stuff. The story follows a man who has his car stolen by a batch of thieves, and tasking one of them—left behind after the job—to help track it down. And within this context, everyone delivers, with our review from the Croisette calling it “bleak, brutal and unrelentingly nihilist.” Dang. And for more about the making of the movie, check out the video interviews below, with one from Australia’s “At The Movies” (via The Rover Film) and another from Cannes press.
The Rover” opens in limited release on June 13th and goes wide on June 20th.
Can not wait to see Rob and guy in this movie. The movie shows a different talent for Rob. He had this in him all the time I could see his action skill in twilight at the dance studio.
The cinematography on this looks stunning. This really looks like one to see on the big screen. And I'm so happy that Pearce is getting a juicy role. He's a fantastic actor and should win some awards.
