Get Back On The Ice With The First Trailer For ‘Goon: Last Of The Enforcers’

To be honest, I don’t get the fanboy love that the rather middling hockey comedy “Goon” has on some corners of the internet. More importantly, however, the movie was a big hit in its native land, and so now we have a sequel.

Goon: Last Of The Enforcers” brings back the key cast members — Seann William Scott, Jay Baruchel (who also directs), Liev Schreiber, Alison Pill, Marc-André Grondin, Kim Coates, Eugene Levy, David Paetkau and Jonathan Cherry — with new faces Elisha Cuthbert, Wyatt Russell and T.J. Miller, with the story picking up as pugilist Doug Glatt gets out of the hockey game…..only to get pulled back in. Here’s the official synopsis:

After one too many concussions, hockey enforcer Doug Glatt (Seann William Scott) is forced to give up his aspirations of going to the big show and settle into a buttoned down career as an insurance salesman at the urging of his pregnant wife Eva (Alison Pill). However, Doug can’t resist the siren call of the Highlanders, so he sets course to reclaim his former glory.

“Goon: Last Of The Enforcers”opens in Canada on March 17, 2017. No word on U.S. distribution or dates at the moment.
