East Of Eden Gary Ross Jennifer Lawrence

Though she’s looking to take a short break, Jennifer Lawrence still has her planned reunion with “The Hunger Games” helmer Gary Ross to look forward to. Per THR, Ross has officially signed on to pen the screenplay to the epic two-part adaptation of John Steinbeck’s “East of Eden” in addition to sitting in the director’s chair, something he has done for his last three directorial outings. Don’t get too excited though, Ross still has the Peter Pan quasi-prequel, “Peter Pan and the Starcatchers” and his slow-brewing Carey Mulligan-starring sci-fi action film “Outback” on the docket.

Initially set to move ahead with Nicolas Winding Refn at the helm, the big-screen adaptation of the TV show “The Equalizer” ended up with Antoine Fuqua in the director’s chair. and he seems to have pulled it together to the studio’s liking. The Wrap reports Sony Pictures is already moving ahead on a sequel to the Denzel Washington-starring thriller even though it doesn’t open until late September. “The Expendables 2” screenwriter Richard Wenk has signed on to write the action sequel. “The Equalizer” hits theaters on September 26th.

With a $270 million worldwide haul on a budget of $37 million, you better believe New Line wants a re-up of “We’re The Millers.” THR reports “Due Date” writer Adam Sztykiel has been tapped to write the comedy sequel with the original four cast members — Jason Sudeikis, Jennifer Aniston, Will Poulter and Emma Roberts — likely to return along with director Rawson Marshall Thurber. There’s no word on what direction the sequel will go but given the quick turnaround on most studio comedies, expect things to move quickly.

  2. Although I think Jennifer Lawrence is a gifted young actress, I don't feel she is right for the role of Cathy. She just doesn't fit the part. As general assumption would lead you to believe, she can't do it all.

You mean he's directed the last three movies he's directed?
