‘Game of Thrones’ Final Season Teaser Trailer: The Game Comes To An End Beginning April 14

The “Game of Thrones” is almost over. After eight years of building up to one epic conclusion, many are excited, some relieved, and others, distraught. After all, the last few seasons have felt like they’ve been wrapping up much too quickly, this final season is no exception. In this final bout, we’re getting only getting six episodes full of carnage, high body counts, and likely a few twists and turns along the way. But, once the rush is over, it’s hard to imagine anyone left feeling truly satisfied.

A tight lid has been kept over the production in hopes of containing spoilers. Of course, all our favorite characters are returning, including Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), Jon Snow (Kit Harrington), Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage), Cersei Lannister (Lena Heady), Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner), Arya Stark (Maisie Williams), Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau), and Brienne of Tarth (Gwendoline Christie), among many others.

The last we saw them, the mother of dragons and Jon Snow were already falling in love while danger swirled around them on all sides. Everyone competing for the iron throne will assuredly collide one way or the other, including the impending white walker army led by The Night King and his newly acquired ice dragon, marching south of the wall.

It’s hard to believe the final season is almost here. With so much in the balance, so many questions, loose ends, and storylines, it’s also difficult to believe the creators can end it in a way that’ll feel whole and final. But, they’ve pulled rabbits out of their hat before. So it’s not out of the question that they’ll cross the finish line in style. Here’s what HBO has to say about this new teaser:

HBO aired a new tease for GAME OF THRONES tonight, which announced SUNDAY, APRIL 14 as the debut date for the show’s six-episode, eighth and final season. As in previous seasons, the series will air at 9:00 p.m. (ET/PT), exclusively on HBO.

The tease was directed by David Nutter, who won an Emmy® in 2015 for the season five finale (“Mother’s Mercy”).

The tease includes an original score by Ramin Djawadi, who won an Emmy® in 2018 for the season seven finale (“The Dragon and the Wolf”).
