Gal Gadot Confirms Joss Whedon Threatened Her Career On ‘Justice League’ Set & Comments On Armie Hammer’s Sexual Assault Allegations

The accusations against Joss Whedon from the cast of “Buffy The Vampire Slayer,” “Angel,” and “Justice League” have been bubbling for months. Still, another DCEU actor is reaffirming previous allegations that the director threatened an actor’s career during the reshoots on the set of “Justice League.”

Gal Gadot herself spoke about the ordeal while interviewing with Israeli outlet Mako/N12, admitting that Whedon did indeed threaten her career on set. Warner Bros. hired the director to complete “Justice League” to their standards after Zack Snyder stepped back to deal with the tragic loss of his daughter. For whatever reason, and several reports have pointed to the pressures involved, Whedon decided to treat various actors terribly during those reshoots.

“He kind of threatened my career and said if I did something, he would make my career miserable, and I just took care of it instead,” Gal told the Israeli outlet (that may mean “if I didn’t do something he asked,” which is what “Justice League” actor Ray Fisher alleges was threatened of him as well).

Gal also responded to the sexual assault allegations made against her “Death On The Nile” co-star Armie Hammer, the two play husband and wife in the murder mystery film due to be released next year by the Disney-owned 20th Century Studios.

“It’s very complex. If the truth is that he did things [alleged of him], then a person has to pay the price for his actions and take responsibility. I don’t know what will happen,” Gal Gadot responded.

It’s still uncertain if 20th Century Studios will attempt to alter the movie to replace Hammer’s performance entirely with another actor (an extremely costly and unlikely remedy given they’d have to reshoot most of the movie), sell or bury it, or simply release as originally intended attempting to ignore that one of their main actors is under investigation by authorities in Los Angeles.

Despite Joss’ threats, her career is chugging along just fine. Gal’s less controversial projects include Netflix’s “Red Notice,” which will see her co-starring with Hollywood nice guys Dwayne Johnson and Ryan Reynolds. She’s also set to reprise Diana for “Wonder Woman 3,” reuniting her with director Patty Jenkins, however, the filmmaker is set to direct “Star Wars: Rogue Squadron” for a December 2023 release date. This would suggest that Patty’s “Star Wars” installment would be going into production before the next “Wonder Woman” installment.
