"Songs From District 12 And Beyond" reads the subheading of the forthcoming "Hunger Games" soundtrack, when leads us to think that not all of these songs will make the cut into the movie. But, no matter, as the full tracklist for the disc has been revealed and it's certainly eclectic, and if it turns some tweens onto some decent music that isn't Skrillex or Karmin (who we didn't know existed until "Saturday Night Live" this weekend), then we can't complain.
Spanning sixteen songs strong, the "Hunger Games" soundtrack includes expected folks like Taylor Swift (who leads things off with two songs), Neko Case, Arcade Fire (not just Win Butler and Regine Chassagne as was previously reported it seems) and Secret Sisters along with some surprising names. Among, them Kid Cudi, who brings some hip hop flava with the tough sounding "The Ruler & The Killer." Meanwhile, Glen Hansard of "Once" and Swell Season fame contributes "Take The Heartland" while Miranda Lambert brings some country twang with "Run Daddy Run" (ft. Pistol Annie).
Anyway, this will be ready to rock your iPod on March 20th. Full tracklist, The Decemberists and official video for "Safe & Sound" below. Update: Revised tracklist from EW added. [via Stereogum]

I meant to say "country"…nothing against Contra…the video game and the Vampire Weekend Album….
Very intriguing…except for the contra starlets…this should get The Civil Wars more exposure to go along with their Grammy win last night…great fucking band!
It's a companion album, none of the songs are in the movie.
