Earlier this year we dropped our feature 15 Great TV Shows You Might Have Missed, and we hope you took note of “Last Chance U.” The first season of Netflix‘s football docuseries was terrific — think of it as a real-life “Friday Night Lights” — and now the second season is getting ready to get on the field.
“Last Chance U” season two will once dive into the football program at East Mississippi Community College, where troubled athletes get one more chance to shine. At the heart of the series is tough as nails coach Buddy Stephens, and academic advisor Brittany Wagner, who treats each player as if they were her own child. Even if you don’t care about football, it’s really the characters that make the emotional connection.
“Last Chance U” season two debuts on July 21st.
I didn’t need to be told about this series, found it the week it came out and devoured it. Fascinating series for a fan of sports, sports movies and sports documentaries…. Not sure if it was mentioned in your previous article or not, but Friday Night Tykes is mesmerizing too… it’s also a great game too… find the most redeemable adult on this show… it’s tough to find one who hasn’t lost all focus on what kids sports is supposed to be about.
