Got a Tip?

First Poster For ‘Gulliver’s Travels’ Looks Like A Fake Movie From ‘Funny People’

Empire has tweeted a picture of the poster for the forthcoming Jack Black comedy “Gulliver’s Travels” and it looks like 20th Century Fox have hired the Universal graphic designers who made the fake movie posters for “Funny People” to make actual movie posters.

We suppose the concept of the idea makes sense: it utilizes one of the key scenes from Jonathan Swift’s famous novel about the Gulliver who encounters the tiny inhabitants of Lilliput. But the execution is embarrassing. What is that expression on Jack Black’s face supposed to mean? Is he surprised? Does he have gas? Or judging by his clothing, did he leave his cell phone at Coachella? We guess 20th Century Fox want people to look at this at go “OMG Jack Black is tied down by tiny people! That is so funny! And its in 3D! I’m going to Fandango right now!” but we imagine it will have all the effectiveness of Kevin James riding a segway (wait a minute…..).

“Gulliver’s Travels” will be in theaters on December 22nd and stars Black, Jason Segel, Emily Blunt and Amanda Peet. We couldn’t be less excited by this and frankly, we’d rather watch Adam Sandler and Owen Wilson in “My Best Friend Is A Robot.”
