Got a Tip?

First Pic Of Kevin Spacey In David Fincher’s ‘House Of Cards’; Andre 3000 As Jimi Hendrix In ‘All Is By My Side’ & Many More

Plus First-Look Photos Of Evan Rachel Wood In 'A Case Of You,' & Jennifer Connelly In 'Writers'

nullHope you rested your eyeballs over Memorial Day weekend, because a whole batch of new images have arrived to give you a peek at what's hitting the big and small screen in the next little while.

The first image of Kevin Spacey in the David Fincher-produced and -directed Netflix series “House Of Cards” has arrived. The still shows Spacey and Robin Wright as the ruthless and ambitious couple at the heart of the series. Spacey says that the show, based on a revered 1990 BBC drama, “is about a wily, murderous politician worming his way to the White House” and warns that "it ain't your Daddy's 'West Wing.' " The series doesn’t hit Netflix until sometime next year, but with a supporting cast that includes Kristin Connolly, Kate Mara and Corey Stoll, we can't wait to see what this will deliver. [EW]

Despite the disapproval of Jimi Hendrix’s estate, filming has already begun in Ireland on the biopic “All Is By My Side.” Thanks to Shadow and Act (via Gigwise), we have our first look at Andre 3000 on set and in costume as the legendary guitarist. The long-brewing project, penned and directed by John Ridley (“Three Kings” and “U-Turn”), will essentially cover Hendrix’s breakthrough period from 1966 to 1967.

nullJustin Long is making his screenwriting debut with the rom-com “A Case Of You,” a film he co-wrote with his brother Christian and Keir O’Donnell. Long stars opposite Evan Rachel Wood, as a writer who embellishes his profile in order to meet a girl online, only to have to try to live up to the high standards he’s set for himself in real life when she begins to fall for him. Peter Dinklage, Sam Rockwell, Vince Vaughn, Busy Phillips, Sienna Miller and Brendan Fraser round out the cast. [EW]

nullWes Bentley, last seen with awesome facial hair in “The Hunger Games,” is starring in the indie drama “3 Nights in the Desert.” He’s playing an unhinged musician, partly inspired by prolific songwriter Jack White, that reunites for a weekend with his former bandmates, played by Amber Tamblyn (“127 Hours”) and Vincent Piazza (“Boardwalk Empire”). The image from EW sees Bentley sporting a much more conservative beard with flannel opposite a clean-cut Piazza. There is no release date yet. [EW]

nullJosh Boone will be making his feature film directorial debut with “Writers.” The film centers on Bill Borgens (Greg Kinnear), a prominent author still emotionally attached to his ex-wife, played by Jennifer Connelly. Lily Collins and Nat Wolff (“New Years Eve”) take the roles of their children, who are both romantically entangled with a classmate (Logan Lerman) and a first love (Liana Liberato), respectively. Rounding out the cast is Kristen Bell, playing Tricia, Bill's casual hook-up attempting to aid him through his destructive feelings. Also popping up? Stephen King in a cameo. [EW]null

Fans of Jack Kerouac have more than just Walter Salles’ adaptation of “On The Road” to look forward to. Next year sees the release of the big-screen adaptation of Kerouac’s semi-autobiographical 1962 novel, “Big Sur,” which stars Jean-Marc Barr as the iconic writer and Josh Lucas as his pal, Neal Cassady. And we have our first official look at the pair in character. While the novel used pseudonyms, the film, scripted and directed by Michael Polish (“The Astronaut Farmer”), will use the writers’ real names. Kate Bosworth, Anthony Edwards, Radha Mitchell, Balthazar Getty and Henry Thomas round out the somewhat eclectic cast. The film is also being scored by the identical twins from The National, Aaron and Bryce Dessner. [EW]

nullLastly, hot on the heels of the first look at Hailee Steinfeld as Juliet in the latest “Romeo & Juliet” incarnation, we have a few more official stills that include Paul Giamatti as Friar Laurence and Stellan Skarsgard as the Prince Of Verona in full period garb. If nothing else, the film looks like it’ll be immaculately costumed. [Kinopoisk]nullnull
