An unlikely smash hit last summer, STX Entertainment has wasted little time in going franchise with “Bad Moms.” After an ill-advised flirtation with knocking out a “Bad Dads” movie, the studio wisely realized audiences wanted more ‘Moms,’ and this holiday season, the gang is back.
Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell, and Kathryn Hahn have returned for this holiday-themed sequel, which keeps the R-rated approach intact. Jon Lucas and Scott Moore, the team behind “The Hangover,” have also returned to write and direct, with the movie promising to expand the “Bad Moms” family, which includes Susan Sarandon, Christine Baranski and Cheryl Hines getting in on the fun.
“The holidays are a hotbed for mother stress,” Hahn told USA Today about the setting of the film. “It’s a great, tense process for comedy. There’s this race, this countdown, all leading up to this one day.”
“A Bad Moms Christmas” opens on November 3rd.
