Who would’ve thought that “The Lego Movie” would become a big-screen-branded business that was also creatively clever? Phil Lord and Chris Miller kicked open the doors of possibility with the building blocks that will continue with next week’s “The Lego Batman Movie,” and after The Dark Knight gets into his animated adventure, there will be an extra brick in the bag.

“The Lego Ninjago Movie” will bring audiences a ninja flavored adventure, with the voices of Jackie Chan, Justin Theroux, Dave Franco, Michael Peña, Abbi Jacobson, Kumail Nanjiani, Zach Woods and Fred Armisen, weaving the story of villain Lord Garmadon and his teenage son who tries to stop him.
“It’s about a son having to live with this father who’s a threat to Lego-manity (but) more about the son’s journey of forgiving him and learning to accept him for who he is,” Theroux told USA Today about the movie, with the paper dropping these new images.
“The Lego Ninjago Movie” opens on September 22nd.
