While Marvel has mostly kept their TV and film worlds separate, there’s also (thus far) no overlap — it’s not as if there’s a different version of Iron Man running around Hell’s Kitchen in “Daredevil.” But on the DC Comics side, they’ve been happy to spin different stories for different branches of Warner Bros. This week sees the release of the animated “Batman: The Killing Joke,” a wholly different beast than “Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice.” And while the big screen has Henry Cavill playing the Man Of Steel, the small screen now has a different actor wearing the tights.
“Teen Wolf” actor Tyler Hoechlin is suiting up to play Superman in season two of “Supergirl.” The cousin of Kara Danvers will visit National City across the first two episodes of season two of the series, and given that he needs to get out the cape, will be jumping into action. Does Hoechlin look appropriately heroic for the gig? We’ll let you tell us in the comments section.
“Supergirl” returns on The CW at 8 pm on Monday, October 10th. [Comic Book Movie]
Something about his face just doesn’t seem right. I know that’s completely asinine to say, given that it’s his natural look (minus the obvious photo retouching that’s been done) but I suppose that might be what they were going for when they cast him – someone with atypical facial features compared to what most would be used to by now with all the actors that have had the role in the past.
