Robert Downey Jr., a cute French bulldog and Zach Galifianakis sporting what looks to be a perm or jheri curls. It’s some ghastly hair for sure, but that’s probably the genius of director Todd Phillips.
It’s your first look at Phillips’ post-“The Hangover” feature called, “Due Date” and the concept doesn’t sound radically different.
“The Hangover,” is of course about four guys on a Vegas trip that lose the groom and have to get him home on time for his wedding. Slightly different, “Due Date” is a road trip story a about a businessman (RDJ) racing across the country for his child’s birth, sidelined with the unwanted problem of a wannabe actor (Galifinakis; Michelle Monaghan plays Downey Jr.’s wife).
This one went into production fast, basically just a few weeks after “The Hangover” was a bonafide smash hit and Phillips became the toast of the town. The pic comes from EW, but is not online (but was scanned over at ONTD). Galifinakis tells the mag, “I got lost biking to Robert’s house and showed up late and sweaty. Then I made a derogatory comment about an actress he once lived with. So that was weird.”
Perfectly awkward. “Due Date” is already set for a November 5, 2010 release date (weird date for what seems like a summer comedy film) and also stars Jamie Foxx, Juliette Lewis, Alan Arkin, the RZA, and Matt Walsh who was really underrated in “Old School.”
PS, I dunno from dogs, so I'm probably wrong. Feel free to point me in the right direction. I just always call those things bat dogs.
It'll be nice to see how Downey and Galifinakis bounce off one another in this.

5 years ago someone was to tell you Robert Downey Jr. would be America's favorite leading man you would have been laughed at.
Despite how you feel about it, Sherlock is tracking huge, IM2 is going to explode, and a spiritual sequel to the Hangover will be bringing in some fat $.
