“Scott Pilgrim vs. the World” director Edgar Wright loves posting oblique messages on his myspace page about the forthcoming film. Sometimes they’re revealing and often times they’re just fun, but a very recent post gives us a first look (or half a look) at lead star Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Ramona Flowers, the love interest of Scott Pilgrim, aka Michael Cera. Note her closely-cropped hairdo — there won’t be any long school girl locks like the young star had in Quentin Tarantino’s half of “Grindhouse” (see image below).
We just started reading the graphic novels very recently and they’re a fun easy read that you can tear into. If one had all five books in front of them it certainly wouldn’t take more than 2-3 days to finish them all or even less depending on how much time you have (we have little).
We’re pretty curious what Michael Cera’s haircut will look like in the film. Obviously the young actor generally sports a messy, but short mousse of bedhead and Scott Pilgrim’s hair style in the comic books is a much wild and crazier bedhead and that is much much longer and spiky. It’ll be interesting to see what Cera looks like with a coiffe like that. We’re not sure if the ladies will totally love it or not. Who knows.
“Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World,” is basically about the adventures of the titular character who becomes involved with the mysterious American Flowers (most of the other characters are Canadian) and by doing so, has to fight-off and battle seven of her ex evil boyfriends that are being played by people like Brandon Routh and Chris Evans (much of the film has been already cast and it’s pretty fantastic so far). We put ‘Pilgrim’ in our Most Anticipated of 2009 list, but it’s starting to sounds like this picture might be a 2010 release.
