Got a Tip?

First Look At Juliette Binoche In Claire Denis’ Cannes-Bound ‘Let The Sunshine In’

In fact, as Screen Daily have revealed, even the title suggests a chance of pace for Denis — formerly known as “Dark Glasses,” the English-language title has now been confirmed as “Let The Sunshine In,” something that we could all stand to have more of at the moment. They’ve also debuted a first-look image of the film, focused on Juliette Binoche, who stars in the film with Gérard Depardieu, Bruno Podalydès and Josiane Balasko.

Not much is still known about the movie for now, beyond that it’s based on Roland Barthes’ “A Lover’s Discourse: Fragments,” but we should find out soon enough: it’ll premiere by opening the Cannes Directors’ Fortnight in just a few weeks, and the sidebar’s director, Edouard Waintrop, calls it “a radical change in tone.” Check back then for our verdict on the film.
