First Look: Iron Fist Has Arrived To Ruin ‘Luke Cage’ Season 2

I don’t even watch these Marvel shows (except “Jessica Jones“), but it seems the one thing that everyone can agree on is that Iron Fist is terrible. Both the series and the character have been the least warmly embraced by far, but due to the assemblage of this interconnected Netflix universe, the hero remains. And now he’s rolling into the second season of “Luke Cage” to ruin it for everybody.

Of course, everything is being kept a mystical secret about how these two heroes will team up in the next run of episodes for “Luke Cage,” but I’m sure it will involve some [insert villain] arriving in [New York location] that forces these guys to come together. But of course, the eternal question will be, how come the Avengers can never just show up to take care of these things? I guess we’re just supposed to keep forgetting they’re around.

      • If by accurate you mean pretty damn biased, then yes. In other news, Iron Fist and Luke Cage both have the same comic run, called Heroes for Hire, not like it’s any surprise these two are going to appear on one’s another show. And finally, if the author bothered enough to write subjectively about something he has at least seen, he’d know that these two actually had pretty good chemistry in Defenders, so it’s only natural to continue and explore their relationship a bit more. But sure, it’s better to stick to that one bad season by now-gone showrunner (which the author admitted he hasn’t seen) and write biased piece on something that should clearly be annoucned as simple news. Some good journalism right there.

        • Danny Rand is pretty boring. Iron Fist was torture to get through and in the Defenders, Rand was the weakest link. You don’t have to watch Iron Fist to know Danny has the personality of a limp noodle.

Just because you accept mediocre Danny doesn’t mean everyone else will. It baffles me that Iron Fist gets a second season and not only that, he is now going to ruin what made Luke Cage awesome. Just what Luke Cage needed, a billionaire boring dude who is played by a very bland Finn Jones. And I don’t care about Hereos for Hire or comic history. I do care about characters who are boring up the screen like Danny does in all his scenes

          • I get that, what we don’t agree on is simply the fact, that things change. First season of Iron Fist was bad, because the showrunner wasn’t very good (he’s now moved on to ruin Inhumans for you) and there wasn’t much time to do it right. Finn Jones can act, his Game of Thrones character proves he can, he needs a good script and someone to bounce off of. Luke Cage is perfect contrast to Danny, thus making it pretty great and reasonable choice for them to join up.

Oh and Luke Cage & awesome? Please. Just because he’s black and bullets don’t kill him doesn’t mean it’s some godlike show worth all the internet praise. Acting was good, better than in IF, the first 4 episodes were great, but the rest pretty meh. The 2nd villain was complete joke, some episodes felt like boring fillers and nothing else and the action sequences were just as lame if not worse than in IF. So much for Luke Cage being “awesome”.

          • No. The showrunner is half the battle. See The Walking Dead and how Andrew Lincoln is great but the script is just horrible. Finn Jones can’t act and GoT is boring. Black Sails is loads better.

And for Luke Cage, the first villain was there for 6-7 episodes. I do agree the second half was weak but it’s more forgivable than Iron Fist. Sorry but you know that was bad. All that time wasted to ” confirm he’s Danny Rand? “. No. And if you want to talk biased, you mentioning that he’s Black and can dodge bullets ? Pretty important considering what’s going on.

Luke Cage is still a more superior show. Just like Daredevil season one and Jessica Jones. Danny is the weak link and it’s too bad Marvel didn’t clue in and cast someone who can actually act. Danny is the weak link and you don’t have to like it but you can’t go bashing on a character you didn’t like but then get outraged when the writer of this article doesn’t like Danny Bland

          • Never said I liked Iron Fist or that I hated Luke Cage. Merely mentioned that Cage got most of his praise for being relative to the current problems in States, while Danny was mostly hated for the same thing – not relative enough, because rich white kid becomes ninja and that’s not “worthy” any debate, so of course american critics had to bash it. Not saying it wasn’t flawed, it definitely was, but so was Luke Cage and I’d both given them the same 5-6/10 mark, if for different reasons.

Theres only so many Andrew Lincolns in the world, for what its worth, Finn Jones has a terrible Danny haircut and he wasn’t given the best scripts in his two last outtings, I still say he can do better. Also, Jessica okay-ish, DD 1st season good, 2nd much better & complex. Elektra / Punisher steal it pretty much in every scene.

But yeah, don’t expect we can ever agree on something 🙂 which is just as fine, my original point was this article could have (and maybe should have) been served up as mere news, no need for another bashing piece.
