Got a Tip?

First Look At ‘Sherlock Holmes’ Teaser- A Megablockbuster “Bromance”? Shudder

To the left is the brand new teaser poster for this winter’s “Sherlock Holmes.” Peered at during ShoWest, it seems to do an excellent job of conveying the idea, “Hey, Robert Downey Jr. is in this movie!” LatinoReview first revealed the poster, as well as shots from “500 Days Of Summer,” “The Hangover” and “Easy Virtue,” though the cleaned up “Holmes” found here is courtesy of Rope Of Silicon.

In other “Holmes” news, during the press tour for “State of Play,” Rachel McAdams took time out of her busy schedule answering questions about Russell Crowe’s awful hair to discuss the Guy Ritchie tentpole. As if to render the already useless franchise-starter even less relevant, Sci-Fi Wire, who has the interview (because “State of Play” and “Sherlock Holmes” are SO sci-fi), uses the term “bromance” to describe her comments. Christ almighty.

A sampling of the interview…

“It’s lots of fighting and explosions, but, I think, from what I’ve seen, obviously Robert Downey Jr. is an amazing actor, and so is Jude Law. They make a wonderful duo. I think some people are probably skeptical. Everybody has their preconceived notions about Watson in particular. Everyone’s like, “Watson’s supposed to be like this.” Anyway, I just think Jude [Law] is a perfect Watson, oddly enough, and they’re really perfect together. That’s kind of the love story, actually. I play supposedly Sherlock’s love interest, but it’s really Watson.”

  1. The poster is good I guess, that is if they are trying to compare Sherlock Holmes to Jack the Ripper, or better yet, Gary Oldman from Dracula. Actually, aside from the pipe, it looks alot like There Will Be Blood’s poster.
