Originally set to come out next month, Jim Sheridan‘s “Dream House” ran into some scheduling issues when the film’s star, Daniel Craig, found his calendar filled up quickly with “Cowboys & Aliens” and “The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo,” making scheduling reshoots a tricky proposition. Well, they managed to squeeze some time in last month and with a fresh fall date now planned, Universal has plenty of time to build up to the release of the film.
Starring Rachel Weisz, Naomi Watts along with Daniel Craig, “Dream House” follows the story of a successful New York publisher (Craig) who moves his wife (Weisz) and children to a New England town, where they buy the home of their dreams. That dream, however, is shattered when they learn that the previous tenants were murdered, leading the husband to team with a neighbor (Watts) to learn the truth about the crime. Sounds pretty routine, but the first look at the movie is actually pretty enticing and a little creepy. We dig it. We just hope the script by David Loucka — best known for ancient pics like the Michael Keaton comedy “The Dream Team” and the Whoopi Goldberg basketball movie “Eddie” — is worth a damn. But this cast is pretty first rate and we’ll watch ’em in anything.
“Dream House” will aim to provide some thrills when it opens on September 30th. [JustJared]
