Earlier this year, we had heard that Guillaume Canet‘s “Blood Ties” was nearing the finish line, and thus we included it on our list of films that may show up at the Cannes Film Festival. And perhaps this is a further indication that when the lineup is unveiled later this week, the French filmmaker’s English-language effort will be among the titles getting the red carpet treatment.
The first official images from the movie have arrived, giving us a look at Clive Owen, Mila Kunis, Matthias Schoenaerts and Zoe Saldana. A remake of the 2008 French thriller “Les Liens Du Sang” (which also starred Canet), the film tells the story of two brothers, the younger of which (played by Billy Crudup) is asked by his older convict sibling (Owen) to go back into the underworld to help out his family. Kunis plays a love interest in the film, but no word yet on the parts filled out by Schoenaerts and Saldana.
But with a cast that also includes James Caan, Marion Cotillard, Noah Emmerich, Lili Taylor and more, along with a script that had some help from none other than James Gray, you can bet this is one we’re eager to see. No release date or any other info just yet. [Kinopoisk]

Canet is a great director & what an amazing cast! + James Gray, this have serious potential!
After following this through filming, I'm glad we're finally getting something official. I think Cannes is a pretty safe bet. I can't wait for until the rest of us get to see it!
Tell No One was amazing, Little White Lies not so much. Hopefully this is like the former.
I'm glad the only qualifying characteristic of Kunis' character is "love interest."
