“Iron Man 3” continues to conquer the peaks of box office mountain and if you haven’t seen it yet, well, you probably should (and then see if you agree with our choices for best and worst elements of the movie). If you have managed to catch it, then feel free to check out the latest and amusing podcast hosted by Empire Magazine. It features “Iron Man 3” director Shane Black and co-writer Drew Pearce as they discuss the ins and outs of the movie and the conversation features a few interesting gems that might prick up your ears.
While a good majority of the talk is rather spoiler-heavy, Black and Pearce do talk about some developments in early drafts of the script that wound up being cut before the making of the film. There were completely different villains involved such as Madden, Kreeger, and Edwin Cord. But most notable was Shane Black mentioning this interesting little tidbit:
“Pepper, in one draft, slept with [Aldrich] Killian because he was so pheromonially enhanced with this extremis that she couldn’t resist him and she was angry with Tony and so she sleeps with Killian and then he makes a sex tape and broadcasts it in Home Depot.” Wow. While that development never made it past the second draft, knowing that such a draft even existed must make some wish for an R-rated “Iron Man 3” just to see how far Shane Black would be willing to go.
Nevermind, we’ll just have to enjoy the film as it is. In the meantime, if you do want some more "Iron Man 3" you can check out the podcast below but again, you’ve been warned, there are heavy spoilers within.
