‘First Cow’ Trailer: Kelly Reichardt Continues Her Soulful Storytelling Mission With A24 In The Oregon Territory

Kelly Reichardt has been in our lives since 1994. Over 25 years later, Reichardt continues to make character studies, films that humanize specific people, and particular relationships. She gives us characters to relate to, honest films that focus on real people and real stories. After indie success in “Certain Women” and slowly growing a cult following, Reichardt’s new film “First Cow” already has a level of critical acclaim before even hitting theaters.

Here is the official synopsis:

A loner and cook (John Magaro) has traveled west and joined a group of fur trappers in Oregon Territory, though he only finds connection with a Chinese immigrant (Orion Lee). The men collaborate on a business, although its longevity is reliant upon the participation of a wealthy landowner’s prized milking cow.

Hitting the festival circuit at Telluride Film Festival and the New York Film Festival, “First Cow,” continues an already stellar career for one of Hollywood’s finest directors in Reichardt. A film widely reviewed, “First Cow,” looks to be another chapter of compelling and heartfelt storytelling.
