Final ‘Pet Sematary’ Trailer: If You Cheat Death, There’s A Price To Be Paid In The New Horror Film

The final trailer for the upcoming horror film “Pet Sematary” finds itself in an awkward position. Much like the last trailer, the latest clip doesn’t hide one of the most interesting aspects of the film’s plot. However, in showing people this aspect of the film, a major plot point is revealed that would have probably been best kept a secret. That being said, as the filmmaker’s recently said, there’s really no way to hide this part of the film and what we would consider a spoiler isn’t really a major spoiler. Long story short, watch the trailer at your own risk.

“Pet Sematary” is the latest reimagining of a famous Stephen King novel. The film follows the story of a family that moves to a new small town and finds out that the local children have a very odd tradition when family pets pass away. The children put on animals masks and hold a ceremony in the woods at what they call the Pet Sematary. But considering this is a horror film, you quickly find out that the “sematary” that the children have created has some special, supernatural properties.

Our reviewer, Ryan Oliver said of “Pet Sematary” out of SXSW in his review:  “For as impressive and smart as the film is throughout, the weightlessness to the drama keeps it just out of arm’s reach of films that masterfully examine loss like “The Changeling,” but the craft at least firmly plants it in the upper-tier of contemporary horror remakes.”
