‘Fatal Attraction’: Lizzy Caplan To Lead A New Reimagining Of The Classic Erotic Thriller For Paramount+

Lizzy Caplan has slowly but surely established herself as an actor that can take on just about any type of role, whether it be in comedies, dramas, or even horror. And for her next role, it appears she’ll have to dig into her bag of tricks in multiple ways as the lead in a new “Fatal Attraction” series.

According to Variety, Lizzy Caplan has been set to play the lead in the upcoming “Fatal Attraction” series that is being developed at Paramount+. The series is being described as a reimagining of the iconic erotic thriller, which originally starred Glenn Close in the lead role as a woman that becomes unhealthily obsessed with a married man after a short tryst. The role landed Close an Oscar nomination. The remake is said to focus more on the modern views towards coercive control, mental illness, and strong women. Alexandra Cunningham is onboard as a writer and showrunner, with Kevin J. Hynes getting a co-story credit and executive producer role.

Nicole Clemens, president of Paramount+ original scripted series, said, “Alexandra brings an incredibly strong and nuanced point of view to a story that became a cultural phenomenon but has thus far only been told from the male gaze. Partnered with Kevin, they will bring the next explosive chapter of this story to a new generation with a balanced eye to the complexities of the human psyche.”

Alexandra Cunningham is probably best known for her work as a writer on series such as “Desperate Housewives,” “Bates Motel,” and most recently, “Dirty John,” which was an unabashed hit for the USA Network

No premiere date has been set for “Fatal Attractions,” but you better believe we’ll be eagerly awaiting word on which male co-star will appear opposite Caplan’s scary gaze as we prepare to see a new take on the classic film.
