Just like “The Darjeeling Limited” soundtrack, Wes Anderson will continue his relationship with ABCKO records to release the soundtrack to “Fantastic Mr. Fox,” which will hit shelves and digital outfits on November 3rd.
The 25-track soundtrack disc will contain tracks by Wes favorites, The Rolling Stones (“Street Fighting Man’) the Beach Boys (“Heroes and Villains,” Ol’ Man River”) Burl Ives (“Fooba Wooba John” and three tracks in total), famous French New Wave-era’d composer Georges Delerue, one original Jarvis Cocker song written specifically for the film and a score composed, conducted, and produced by Alexandre Desplat. Wes Anderson and music soundtrack supervisor Randall Poster also co-produced some of the score as well.
“Fantastic Mr. Fox” his U.S. theaters in limited release starting November 13 and then goes wide November 25. The film will make its world premiere in London at the London Film Festival on October 14.

I know there is plenty of skepticism about Fox out there and I get that, but how can one not be just a little excited about the prospect of a stop motion animated kids flick based on a story by Roald Dahl featuring Street Fighting Man by The Rolling Stones?
The man loves him his Stones…I must say that.
What is going on? There was so much buzz about Jarvis Cocker's involvement on FMF, like contributing 3 original songs. Not that it's something to be excited about, but if you get Wes Anderson to be too gushy over getting Cocker on board, like creating a character just for him, then that must be something. Then I read the tracklisting to find out Mr. Cocker had only one song. The late Burl Ives had 3 though. Earlier, I read Jarvis' interview where he stated that his bits ended up on the cutting floor. Are you sure the Pulp dude is even IN the film? Or maybe his parts were "phoned-in"? Burl Ives phoned in from the grave? What is a phone-in, anyway? Maybe the two other songs he contributed were accidentally deleted on Wes' iphone. This film has not yet been released but we're having a blast making fun of it. Can't wait for it to be shown.
