Well, whether you like it or not, the "Carrie" remake is happening, but it's hard to deny the talent being assembled is pretty compelling. "Boys Don't Cry" helmer Kimberly Peirce is getting behind the camera, with Chloe Moretz playing the bullied high school girl who unleashes her telekinetic powers after she gets pushed too far. And while there is no denying that Brian De Palma's film is a stone cold classic, we're curious to see what direction this iteration will take.
While the remake is still composing its pieces, that hasn't stopped Moretz fans from getting creative, which has caught the attention of Peirce. Yesterday she posted a fan-made poster to her Facebook page, saying, "Just to let you know this is a poster one of Chloe Moretz's fans made…cool, right?" And yeah, it's not too bad at all. Boasting a nice tagline — "Know her name. Beware the power." — its a pretty good treatment all around, with a nice balance between the falling tear and splash of blood.
Anyway, take a look for yourself below. The hunt is currently on to find Moretz's co-star who will play her fundamentalist mother, with names like Jodie Foster and Julianne Moore being mentioned early, but far from official. Filming will begin later this year.
omg. i cant wait! Chloe is going to own this role(: i can see this is going to be pretty good.
btw that fan artwork is amazing!wow talented whoever did that xD
Carrie is about much more than her having telekinetic powers, guys.
having Peirce on-board (and not some generic b-movie director) ensures that these guys understand King's book.
After seeing how amazing Marcia Gay Harden was when she played a religious zealot in The Mist, I can't really imagine anyone else as Carrie's mother 🙂
