Got a Tip?

Fall Out Boy & Missy Elliott Are Covering The ‘Ghostbusters’ Theme Plus More Soundtrack Details

Get ready for the internet to light up once again. It seems with each new revelation about Paul Feig‘s upcoming “Ghostbusters” movie, the lines in the sand are only being drawn more deeply, with those on one-side vowing their childhoods are ruined forever, while on the other, buying a ticket for the movie is seen as a political act. Meanwhile in the middle, there’s a silent majority who will just wait to see the movie and decide if they like it or not. At any rate, the news about the soundtrack is going to stoke a few more fires.

RCA Records has revealed that a bunch of people you never heard of — G-Eazy ft. Jeremih, 5 Seconds of Summer, Pentatonix, WALK THE MOON, and Wolf Alice — are contributing songs to the movie. However, the most important bit of news comes from Pete Wentz, who revealed on Twitter that his former pop punk sensations Fall Out Boy have teamed with Missy Elliott for a cover of Ray Parker‘s original “Ghostbusters” theme. I dunno…take Fall Out Boy out of the equation, and I would be much more interested in that cover.

But for those who are worried about “Ghostbusters,” Dan Aykroyd — who is a producer on the movie, and has formed the production company Ghost Corps. specifically to develop “Ghostbusters” projects — says the movie is really good, and even better than the original two movies. And we know we can take him at his word, because he has zero vested interest in its success.

See Akyroyd’s full statement below, followed by Elle King‘s “Good Girls” from the soundtrack, which will drop on the same day as the film on July 15th.

  1. Hahaha legit it’s even worse now. This is a disaster. Fall out boy? Really. Now my GB theme will be ruined too?!? Paul Fieg is the worst thing that has ever happened.
The film is trash Dan Akroyd is in disaster control.

There is no silent majority. That is spin by this writer. It is a complete lie.

Now the NBA has been pushed to promoting it to gain more male viewers. The problem is that the basketball players look better and have better chemistry then these quite unfunny ladies. Still even those NBA spots are quite frustrating and unfunny. This movie will be the biggest disaster ever. Paul Feig is cancer and is destroying something great. Stop this movie from being released before it pisses off the world.

I’ve heard of all of those people, but I guess Kevin Jagernauth is out out of touch old fogey.
