There’s no denying Chris Hemsworth is one of the biggest stars in the world. However, when you take away his work as Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, his filmography has quite a few misses. There’s his work in the “Ghostbusters” reboot in 2016, then you have the failed attempt to reboot the “Men in Black” franchise. Let’s not forget about the middling “Spiderhead” and “12 Strong.” But there is one shining star in his non-Marvel work—the high-octane action film, “Extraction.” Now, it looks like Hemsworth, along with filmmaker Sam Hargrave and producers/writers, the Russo Brothers are ready to turn that hit Netflix film into an official franchise with an upcoming sequel.

As seen in the teaser for “Extraction 2,” the film follows the return of Chris Hemsworth as Tyler Rake, who has been presumed dead after the first film. Fear not, fans! He’s not actually dead and “Extraction 2” isn’t a two-hour funeral for the character. As you might guess, Rake is back and he has yet another crazy mission that is going to put him in the heart of battle with tons of guns and explosions.
As mentioned, “Extraction 2” sees the return of Hemsworth, as well as his cohorts from the first film, Hargrave and the Russos. The Russo Brothers are producers of the two films, as well as creatively involved. Joe Russo, in particular, not only works with his brother on the story for both films, but he has also written the scripts. Sam Hargrave made his feature film directorial debut with the impressive first film and now returns to prove he’s not a one-hit-wonder.
