Black Eyed Peas leader producer and rapper Will. I.Am. is teaming up with noted composer Hans Zimmer for the upcoming score to Dreamworks’ animated film, “Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa.” The rapper/singer is also writing several original songs for the soundtrack.
Zimmer is evidently a busy musician and very into collaborations having just teamed up with Wu-Tang Clan leader The RZA for the score to Vin Diesel’s upcoming sci-fi film, “Babylon A.D.,” and recently putting the finishing touches on the “The Dark Knight” soundtrack with composer James Newton Howard.
Will.I Am. is also a part of the film’s cast voicing the studly hippo and watering hole lothario Moto Moto who has his sights on the character Gloria (Jada Pinkett Smith; main voice actors Ben Stiller, Sasha Baron Cohen, David Schwimmer and Chris Rock are also all returning for the sequel).
Once again directed by Eric Darnell and Tom McGrath, “Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa” is due in theaters November 7.
