A trip abroad causing a crisis for an American man isn’t exactly the freshest premise for a film, but that don’t let that stop you from seeing Pascale Ferran‘s "Bird People." That’s just the start of a movie with many more surprises up its sleeve that move it far away from what you expect. Today we have the exclusive U.S. trailer and poster for the film.
"The Good Wife" star Josh Charles leads the film as Gary Newman, a Silicon Valley engineer who lands in Paris only to completely disconnect from his past life, quitting his job and calling things off with his wife. What happens next can’t be spoiled, but a French maid (Anais Demoustier) and a second act shift turn the narrative over. This movie marries fantasy and drama in ways that had critics buzzing at the Cannes Film Festival where it premiered this spring.
"Bird People" opens in theaters and on VOD on September 12th, and will screen at the Toronto International Film Festival. Watch below.
