Occasionally it takes a bit of time for a film to cross the pond, even if its European box office hit like Guillaume Canet's "Little White Lies." But the film finally arrives on U.S. shores later this summer, and it will certainly be helped by the raised profile of its very strong ensemble cast.
Starring Marion Cotillard ("The Dark Knight Rises"), Oscar winner Jean Dujuardin ("The Artist"), Francois Cluzet ("The Intouchables") and more, "Little White Lies" is a sprawling "The Big Chill"-style dramedy, following a group of longtime friends who reunite for their annual beach vacation despite a traumatic accident involving one of their own. During their seaside getaway, they all make discoveries about each other and are finally forced to own up to the little white lies they've been telling one another — and themselves.
Featuring a great soundtrack that includes David Bowie, The Isley Brothers, The Band, Janis Joplin, Gladys Knight & The Pips and more, the film is an entertaining look at the shifting sands of friendships and relationships, and how they can grow richer or more distant over time. Check out the exclusive U.S. poster for the film below. "Little White Lies" hits theaters on August 24th via MPI.
Very beautifully colorful scheme concept. Just pity this terrific film francais of couple years ago hasn't been shown domestically till now.
