Exclusive: Poster For Sundance Beltway Snipers Drama ‘Blue Caprice’

While all eyes are currently on the fall festival season, it’s always easy to forget that the cinematic year already has a strong crop of movies that have already had their red carpet rollout and are gearing up to hit theaters. And one to keep an eye out for is “Blue Caprice,” which premiered in January at the Sundance Film Festival. Starring Isaiah Washington, Tequan Richmond, Joey Lauren Adams and Tim Blake Nelson, it’s based on the chilling true story of the Beltway Sniper, who kept Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia at a standstill in October 2002 by randomly killing people along Interstate 95 with no apparent rhyme or reason.

We have yet to see it as we missed it at Sundance, but our Indiewire pals saw it and say it takes on the unenviable task of making the audience sympathize with the infamous Beltway snipers and making them human. ” ‘Blue Caprice’ displays a willingness to stand apart from judgement and strike an investigative gaze,” they wrote about the film.
