Exclusive: ‘Page One’ TV Spot Promises An Inside Look At The New York Times

With the ability to grab news from feeds on Twitter, Facebook and countless other social media and web sites, the print and paper outlets of old have found themselves in street fight to retain readership and relevance in this new digital age. And among them all, there is no institution as storied or respected as the New York Times, and Andrew Rossi‘s eye-opening and entertaining “Page One: Inside the New York Times” is a peek behind the curtain at the last bastion of serious news journalism.

We’re happy to unveil the new TV spot for the documentary as it gets set to expand into more theaters this weekend. We saw the film back at SXSW and were taken with the amount of topics that the documentary covers – everything from the Times’ evolving relationship with the internet (including the introduction of the pay wall, implemented this spring); their handling of the breaking and game-changing Wikileaks story; and the ramifications of similar media institutions like the titanic Tribune Company) falling by the wayside. It’s a highly entertaining and informative tale due in no small part to journalist David Carr, the veritable scene stealer of the film whose wit and insights are utterly compelling.

Check out the spot below, followed by the rollout dates for the film. Do something nice this holiday weekend and instead of filling your gut with smashing robots, fill your brain with something will stay with you after that tub of popcorn is finished.
