The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan may have seen acts of bravery, but they have been overshadowed by conduct from U.S. soldiers that raise troubling questions about the military’s engagement in the region, and in particular, their own interior culture. And "The Kill Team" exposes yet another story that is head-shakingly, frustratingly real.
Directed by Dan Krauss, the film chronicles the tale of 21 year-old Private Adam Winfield, who upon witnessing members of his platoon murdering civilians and then framing it up to make it look like they were threats or terrorists, alerts his immediate superiors. But his alarm wasn’t answered and Winfield soon faced threats and more from those in his own squad. And as you’ll see in this exclusive clip, the thinking behind the deaths of innocent citizens has a (very) perverse logic within the realm of soldiers, at any rate.
Winning the Best Documentary Feature at Tribeca Film Festival and the Golden Gate award at San Francisco International Film Festival, "The Kill Team" opens on Friday, July 25th at Film Society Of Lincoln Center in New York City. Watch below and check out our review.
