Being lost and adrift in your mid-30s is a familiar sensation of a certain generation, and "How I Met Your Mother" star Josh Radnor captures that with "Liberal Arts," his upcoming sophomore feature directorial effort.
After winning the Audience Award at Sundance in 2010 for "happythankyoumoreplease," Radnor arrived in Park City in January with another movie under his arm, and one that once again finds its characters at a crossorads. The writer, director and actor stars as Jesse, a 35-year-old liberts art college grad, working in the admissions office of a local university, who takes up the invitation of an old professor (Richard Jenkins) to visit him at his alma mater, where he's heading into retirement. While there, he meets Zibby (Elizabeth Olsen), a 19 year-old college student, and the two soon form a quick bond, with the relationship forcing Jesse to take a hard look at his life.
Earning strong buzz out of Sundance, and with a supporting cast that includes Allison Janney and Zac Efron, this is one that should be worth tracking down. "Liberal Arts" opens via IFC Films in New York City and Los Angeles on September 14th and will roll out from there. Check out our exclusive poster for the movie below.
Just a tragedy why bothered to make this stupid version of the damn fucking awesome movie? Its former version the poster is just ridiculouly beautiful. Not mention this one the walking characters were just PSed exactly from the former version.
Ouch, that poster is bad. I mean, not only are they fake walking on a giant book for no apparent reason, but due to their pictures not being taken at the same time she seems to be looking into his ear, or maybe at an entertaining neck tatoo. Who knows what he's doing.
Heinous.
I'm a big fan of Radnor, and I'm sure this will be a good film, but yeah, what a naff poster. Has anyone ever seen the poster for 'Once'? basically the same
why don't you cover movies with people other than happy white faces. i see no trailer/poster/tidbits for anything other than this pasty sh*t on here. oh yes, and brown faces means more than django and beasts of the southern wild. your coverage what's TRULY happening in cinema is painfully lacking.
wow. bad poster. university of washington campus, between the fountain and red square. bad poster. wow. in fact, worst poster of the year so far. could be a contender.
