With two celebrated collaborations in "Silver Linings Playbook" and "American Hustle," and another in the upcoming "Joy," Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper have forged a complimentary onscreen connection, which continues with the Depression-era tale "Serena." Subject to plenty of talk before its release, you can see the movie for yourself when it hits home video this summer, and today we have the exclusive DVD and Blu-ray artwork and details.
Based on the novel by Ron Rash, the story centers on a couple who build an empire only to see their relationship and business begin to crumble. Here’s the official synopsis:
George (Cooper) and Serena Pemberton (Lawrence) are love-struck newlyweds building a timber empire. Serena soon proves herself to be equal to any man: overseeing loggers, hunting rattlesnakes, even saving a man’s life in the wilderness. With power and influence now in their hands, the Pembertons refuse to let anyone stand in the way of their inflated love and ambitions. However, once Serena discovers George’s hidden past and faces an unchangeable fate of her own, the Pemberton’s passionate marriage begins to unravel leading toward a dramatic reckoning.
