There comes a time in every young life when you shake off the dust of your hometown, move to another city, make new friends and face a whole new life head on, and that’s just what writer/director Devyn Waitt aims to capture on his debut feature film “Not Waving, But Drowning.”
Starring Vanessa Ray (“Pretty Little Liars,” “Suits“) and Megan Guinan, the film follows best friends Adele and Sara whose lives change when Adele splits for New York City, with both girls finding new relationships and friendships. “Girls” star Adam Driver, Lynn Cohen (“The Hunger Games: Catching Fire“) and Isabelle McNally along with newcomers Lilli Reinhart and Ryan Munzert, round out the cast for this film that combines music and visuals to paint an impressionistic picture of a very specific time in the lives of these characters, as you can see in this exclusive clip below.
Curious about this one? Well, it will premiere today for free on YouTube, just keep your mouse glued to this site. But if you prefer the big screen experience, you can request a screening in your city via Gathr. Check out the clip and trailer for the film below.
Yeah, Devyn's fantastic. SHE did a great job. HER film is outstanding. It's good to see Indiewire highlight FEMALE directors.
Looks dope! Love the music and cutting.
Devyn is a woman, this is HER debut film. It's also pretty wonderful.
