Dumped by her boyfriend just three weeks before their wedding, Lola enlists her close friends for a series of adventures she hopes will help her come to terms with approaching 30 as a single woman in the romantic comedy "Lola Versus." Written and directed by Daryl Wein and co-written by his romantic partner of seven years Zoe Lister-Jones (the duo behind the indie relationship film "Breaking Upwards"), "Lola Versus" stars Greta Gerwig, Zoe Lister-Jones, your upcoming new "RoboCop" Joel Kinnaman, Hamish Linklater (from Miranda July's "The Future"), and features supporting roles by Bill Pullman and Debra Winger.
A funny and well-observed female-centric chronicle of post-break-up trauma, "Lola Versus" opens in limited release this weekend, June 8th, and Fox Searchlight has provided us with an exclusive behind-the-scenes clip. Take note ex-lovers of Zoe Lister Jones: part of the film sounds like it's based on her traumatic experiences, so hopefully you're not one of the guys modeled after the douchebag architect/rollerblading enthusiast Nick (played by Ebon Moss-Bachrach) in the film. And if you are, let's hope you've radically transformed for the benefit of all mankind. Check out the clip below and also peep the Funny or Die clip "Romcom 4 Life" wherein Wein and Lister-Jones rap about their love for romantic comedies.
Although I think Greta Gerwig is a talented actress, I read that she was responsible for the breakup of Noah Baumbach's (he is now her boyfriend according to news reports) marriage. If this is proven to be true, I will NOT be going to see any of her movies!
Thanks for the nice bts of this chick flick, hopefully it's not just a normal one. Hamish Linklater the adorable yummy kinda wastes himself in something like Battership. The respectable but low profile Mr. Ebon Moss-Bachrach just wastes himself more, in loads of flicks since long history ago.
