As we continue to get settled into 2013, we've been taking a look at what the cinematic world will have to offer this year, with our 100 Most Anticipated Films kicking off with part 1 yesterday. And yet, for the hundreds of movies that we already know are making their way to the big screen over the next twelve months, there are just as many flying under the radar that will quietly emerge and hope to grab your attention as well. And one of them is the psychological thriller "7E."
The directorial debut of writer and director Teddy Schenck, the story centers on Clyde (Brendan Sexton III), a young man who begins to experience unexplained events inside of a New york apartment surrounding the death of its former tenant. James Russo ("Django Unchained") plays an upstairs neighbor who may (or may not) have had something to do with the mysterious death, with Armando Riesco playing another creepy neighbor, and Natasha Lyonne as a bartender who may have the answers Clyde is looking for.
The film has been a labor of love for Schenck, who has worked as a location manager and scout on a variety of films including "Compliance," "2 Days In New York" and "It's Kind Of A Funny Story." He worked alongside longtime friends and colleagues to pull together this indie production, which shot digitally on RED and boasts a score by Billy Martin of famed group Medeski, Martin & Wood. Aiming for a vibe similar to Roman Polanski's "The Tenant," this should be one to keep an eye on.
"7E" is in the final stages of post-production, after which it will be submitted to festivals and seeking distribution. But until then, take a look at these exclusive images from the film below.
