There are few staples in the horror genre than have endured, and been reinvented as often, as the zombie. Since George A. Romero‘s groundbreaking “Night Of The Living Dead,” the undead have been through many different cinematic iterations and this year alone, we’ve seen them fall in love (“Warm Bodies“) and nearly take over the entire planet as a plague (this weekend’s “World War Z“). Well, another entry to the canon is here and is taking the brain-eaters somewhere else — high school.
From director Alex Craig Mann comes the horror/comedy “Detention Of The Dead,” and the title should tell you all you need to know. Starring Jacob Zachar (“Greek“), Alexa Nikolas (“The Walking Dead“), Christa B. Allen (“Revenge“), Jayson Blair (“The New Normal“), Justin Chon (“21 and Over“) and Max Adler (“Glee“), the story finds a ragtag bunch of teens trapped in detention and trying to figure how to get along with each other — and survive — as their classmates have turned into brain-eaters. In this exclusive clip, we see how even the simplest of human functions are now a bit more complicated.
“Detention Of The Dead” is now available on VOD and opens in limited release on June 28th. Watch below.
Ah, so that's what "Reservoir Dogs" would have looked like if it sucked.
