We’re greatly looking forward to Todd Phillips’ highly anticipated follow-up to “The Hangover” which stars Robert Downey Jr. and Zach Galifianakis.
However, the poster for “Due Date”? Mmm, not so much, especially not the weird photoshopping of Galifianakis’ face.
Co-starring Jamie Foxx, Michelle Monaghan and the RZA, the film is a road trip story about a businessman (Downey Jr. ) racing across the country for his child’s birth, sidelined with the unwanted problem of a wannabe actor (Galifianakis) and his French bulldog.
Not all of our writers liked the first trailer for the film, which displayed a picture very reminiscent of “Planes, Trains & Automobiles,” but this writer thought it was a sign of better things to come.
The poster though? Minus 10 points and go back to the drawing board.
Warner Bros. has big hopes for the film as they’ve slotted it to lead the Thanksgiving/Christmas moviegoing season, opening on November 5th. However, it does have an R-Rating, so it won’t be that family-friendly. Obviously the R-Rating never hurt “The Hangover,” which is still the highest-grossing R-rated comedy of all-time. [Yahoo]
It's just a high dynamic range photo.
Maybe in the original picture Galifianakis didn't smile and the marketing department/producers who ever, thought that they both can't be so serious for a comedy poster.
as much as i hate to say this.
this movie is gonna be big. a perfect fall movie and the cast has everything going for it right now.
oh cool, Zach's mom commented (#anon 2).
