It’s been a long time since HBO subscribers took a trip down the “Euphoria” road. In fact, the last episode of Season 1 aired way back in August 2019. Obviously, COVID played a huge role in this, and in the meantime, the series did debut two pandemic “special” episodes. Regardless, it’s been a long, long time for fans to wait for Season 2 of the Emmy-winning teen drama series.
As seen in the new trailer for Season 2 of “Euphoria,” the show is coming back bigger and more dramatic than ever. The series still focuses on the hard-hitting emotional drama that comes with addiction, love, friendship, and all that teen angst. And somehow, it appears there has been a pretty dramatic elevation of the style of the series, making “Euphoria” look better than ever.

Fresh off her role in the record-breaking “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” Zendaya is taking a much more dramatic turn as the lead in “Euphoria.” She’s joined in the ensemble cast by Maude Apatow, Angus Cloud, Eric Dane, Alexa Demie, Jacob Elordi, Barbie Ferreira, Nika King, Storm Reid, Hunter Schafer, Algee Smith, and Sydney Sweeney.
Due to COVID, there has been a big gap between the release of Season 1 of “Euphoria” and the upcoming Season 2. In that time, the series scored a number of high-profile awards, including a Best Actress in a Drama Series Emmy for the aforementioned Zendaya. The series is written and created by filmmaker Sam Levinson, who worked with Zendaya over the pandemic on the 2020 drama, “Malcolm & Marie.”
We’ll have to wait and see if fans are still excited about the series when Season 2 debuts on HBO on January 9, 2022. You can watch the new trailer below.
